The first rotation of Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative (NOEC) Operations employees continues its mission of restoring power for Mississippi residents impacted by Winter Storm Fern.
While outage numbers have dropped significantly, thousands of customers in some of the hardest-hit areas of the state remain without electricity. Officials say that the restoration effort could take up to ten more days.
Keep these rural Mississippi residents in your prayers, as well as our linemen and right-of-way crews, who are braving treacherous conditions while working double shifts to return electric service in these communities.
"We are making progress, but it's slow going," reports NOEC Journeyman Lineman Matt Montgomery. "It seems like for every broken pole there are 5 to 6 spans of primary down."
